7 Tips For Becoming More Adventurous

I haven’t heard of anyone who doesn’t love a good adventure, whether it’s in their own life or fiction.

Unfortunately it’s too easy to fall into the daily life of doing the most mundane things, when there are countless things to explore out there.

1. Become curious

Sometimes that’s all that’s needed for becoming involved in new things.

Start opening new doors, start expanding on things that you already know about.

There’s always something interesting to find.

2. Bring more adventurous influence in your life

Influence doesn’t have to be a person (though it’s recommended!), but it can also be interesting movies, blogs and books that have adventure as their themes.

The fact is that unless you become more adventure-oriented with your daily life, you’ll soon forget about it and fall back to your old habits.

First shape your daily influences and then let them shape you.

3. How long has it been since you’ve changed your environment?

Change is refreshing, especially change of environment. If your situation allows, consider moving to a new place.

If you wish to be adventurous enough, consider steering your life to moving entirely to other country. In my opinion first time in history we are living in time that has the most possibilities available to “normal person” than ever before.

4. Take a good look into your life

Are you living on autopilot? If so, you have to be honest with yourself: do you actually enjoy your life?

If you keep doing what you’ve always done, you keep getting what you’ve always gotten.

5. Adventure is supposed to be scary

Everything worth doing is. Don’t get put down by this fact, but instead embrace it fully: it’s a great thing.

Existence on this planet would be pointless if there wouldn’t be “the next level”, which in this case is doing something that’s not familiar to you.

6. Sacrifice comfort for excitement

You know that traditional vacation, where you book that nice hotel with pool beforehand, bath in sun and take occasional shopping trips to the city?

That’s comfortable, but it’s far from exciting.

Instead of doing that, go explore the city, search for groups that make trips to the nature etc. The main thing is to do something that’s out of your character.

7. Travel alone

This is the ultimate way to get out of your comfort zone while travelling and it’s one of the most rewarding things that I’ve done myself.

The best thing is that this assumes responsibility for your own fun – someone who isn’t used to this may find it as shocking and in some cases even hugely uncomfortable, but from that onward it’s the matter of getting used to it.

Bonus for the bold: Sell everything that you own and start travelling – even if you are 50 years old.

Remember, you are going to die soon anyways. Puff, nothing – now’s you chance.
