While I was jogging I realized that I had some unreleased tension in my body. For the most part today I’ve been in flow while working on a software that will make my day-job a tad bit easier once again.
Otherwise I’ve been having some anxious thoughts related to the brother-in-law who I don’t get along too well.
I consider that slight anxiety as a blessing, because it enables me to refocus once again on what’s important. This is how you can use negative states of mind as your guide instead of something you should avoid at all costs.
Sometimes we may have unconscious resistance that we don’t even realize – one good indicator on that is the same thought popping up in your head again and again.
I started by relaxing every single muscle in your body. Then I asked myself some questions:
- What can I do about this? Nothing
- Is this important? Not really
- Do I have to be in good terms everyone in my life? Absolutely not
- Can I change the past? Hell no
- What can I do next to increase the quality of my life?
The answer for that was to go buy some apples from the grocery store.
You simply can’t help it that things may not be well with every single person in your life. It’s perfectly normal – you just can’t have good vibe with everyone. There are so many factors – they may have some sort of negative image of you or you may not be comfortable around them.
The point is that it doesn’t matter. Things have gone as they have and nothing can change that. It has been the natural course in this world and my job is to accept it with a smile on my face.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t try to do something to fare better with the people of your life, but if after extended periods of trying different things, it’s wise to let go and focus energy to something more meaningful.
After refocusing, releasing the tension in my body, letting go and concluding that there’s no need to be pals with everyone, the slightly anxious thoughts have stopped arising. They served their purpose already and they did a magnificent job.
